rackspace has a power outage, and theres alot of servers down, like basecamp, some of my clients, and maybe some of yours. whats up?
We are experiencing power problems at our DFW Datacenter which may be affecting you. When it became apparent that power was lost in parts of the facility, Rackspace immediately engaged emergency response plans and currently have a full team of engineers on-site working to resolve the issue.
We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we are doing everything in our power to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Power has been restored to all affected devices in the DFW datacenter.
All the impacted devices are running on generator power but all other unaffected DFW devices remain on normal utility power.At this early stage we believe the cause to be a utility distribution breaker failure; the faulty component is currently being repaired.
Until we understand the full extent of the situation we will remain on Generator power.We will update you on the situation as soon as we have more information

In the early stages of the outage, our primary concerns were to restore normal operations and to communicate to any customers who may have been impacted. The outage has now been resolved.
